Custom solar for your Chicago roof

Chicago averages about 4 peak sun hours a day, and panels run more efficiently in cold temperatures. Your solar covers daytime power, charges the Duracell battery with the surplus, and starts working against your ComEd bill the day it is energized.

Battery captures the rest

Illinois ended 1:1 net metering for new solar customers in 2025, so exporting power is no longer worth what it was. The 60 kWh Duracell battery captures excess solar instead of exporting it, so every kWh you self-consume avoids the full retail rate, and your essentials stay on when the grid drops.

Flat 12¢/kWh, locked in

Your solar generation is billed at a flat 12¢/kWh under the VPA, while ComEd's supply price keeps climbing. The battery's grid participation and Illinois rebates fund the equipment, not your wallet.

Why it works in Chicago

ComEd supply rates spiked.
Yours don't have to.

The 2025 PJM capacity auction cleared far above prior years, and that cost flowed straight into ComEd bills, pushing the supply portion up roughly 45%. Chicago homes are paying around 17¢/kWh all-in in 2026, and the trend is up, not down.

Your SOLRITE solar rate is locked at a flat 12¢/kWh, predictable while ComEd's supply price is not. Pair that with a 60 kWh Duracell battery that stores your solar for evening use instead of exporting it for pennies, and the math finally works in post-2025 Illinois.

The credits got cut.
The battery is the fix.

Until 2025, exported solar in Illinois earned 1:1 retail credit on your bill. New ComEd customers now get credited only against the supply and transmission portion, not the delivery charges, so solar sent back to the grid is worth a fraction of what it used to be.

That is why every SOLRITE system in Chicago ships with a 60 kWh Duracell battery. Excess solar charges the battery instead of being exported, your home runs on stored solar in the evening, and ComEd's roughly $300/kW solar and $300/kWh storage rebates help keep your cost at $0 down.
