SOLRITE VPA
A new kind of solar agreement.
- $0 upfront, no loan, no down payment, no equipment to buy.
- Solar + a home battery, included, both pieces, designed to work together from day one.
- Grid services pay for it, your battery earns revenue helping the grid. That's how we cover the equipment.

How we got here
The story of the VPA, in eight steps.
Every fix in solar created the next problem. The same pattern keeps repeating, and the same kind of answer keeps working.
- Step 1 · The beginning
People paid cash for solar.
Twenty, thirty, forty thousand dollars up front. Out of reach for most homeowners.
- Step 2 · The first fix
So the government introduced tax credits.
Incentives to bring the price down. But complicated, a lot of homeowners don't qualify, or don't get the dollar amount they expected.
- Step 3 · The PPA
So the solar PPA was invented.
The solar company holds the tax credits and uses them to pass a simple, fair price to the homeowner. No paperwork. No surprises. Solar made simple.
- Step 4 · The next problem
Then solar started spilling power onto the grid.
So much rooftop solar came online that the grid couldn't absorb the surplus. To use your own solar at night instead of dumping it back to the grid, you needed a battery.
- Step 5 · The catch
But enough battery to matter got expensive fast.
Storing a real amount of solar takes a large battery, and that added tens of thousands to the project. It pushed the monthly payment so high that a lot of homeowners weren't actually saving money anymore.
- Step 6 · The fix, again
So utilities introduced VPP credits.
Homeowners could earn credits by letting their battery support the grid through a virtual power plant. The credits were meant to help cover the cost of the battery.
- Step 7 · The same catch
And most of those VPPs barely do anything.
A lot of these programs only dispatch a battery a few times a year, so they never generate enough revenue to cover much of anything. On top of that, most homeowners don't know how to enroll or how to claim what they're owed. The credits exist; they just don't reach people, or add up to real money.
- Step 8 · The SOLRITE VPA
So we built the Virtual Power Plant Power Purchase Agreement.
SOLRITE runs a real virtual power plant, not a program that dispatches your battery a couple times a year. Your battery works for the grid continuously, and that ongoing revenue is what covers the cost of the batteries. We keep the VPP credits and use them to include a large home battery with your solar, at no extra cost to you. Same idea as the PPA. New problem, same kind of answer.
And there it is: solar, simple again.
VPA vs Loan vs PPA
How a Solar VPA stacks up.
Three different ways to put solar on your roof. Each has trade-offs. Here's how the SOLRITE VPA compares to the two traditional alternatives.
Paid in cash, a system with as much battery as a SOLRITE VPA would run around $70,000, far more storage than most people would ever buy outright. The VPA is how you get that much backup and resilience without the upfront bill.
Generalized comparison. Specific loan and PPA terms vary by provider. The SOLRITE VPA terms are described in the agreement itself; ask us for a copy any time.
Why we built it
this way.

Win for your home
Lower bills than you'd see on a standard utility plan, backup power when the grid fails, and zero hardware to maintain. You get the benefit; you don't carry the cost or the risk.
Win for the grid
The grid is under historic pressure, data centers, AI, electrification. A real Virtual Power Plant of thousands of home batteries dispatches when the grid needs it most. That's the kind of resilience peaker plants can't match.
Win for everyone
Less reliance on fossil peakers. Lower stress on transmission lines. Fewer outages for your neighbors. We don't pitch this as charity, it's the system that pays for itself by making the grid better.
